Vaginal Rejuvenation

Vaginal Rejuvenation

Vaginal rejuvenation is procedures or treatments performed to help with vaginal elasticity, vaginal atrophy, stress incontinence, vaginal dryness, and any cosmetic issues. The term vaginal rejuvenation covers anything that changes or alters the anatomy of the vagina. Vaginal rejuvenation can be internal, externally, cosmetic reasons and for medical reasons.

Many women suffer from these conditions and want to improve their quality of life, self-confidence, and sexual relationships. It is also important that women looking into vaginal rejuvenation have realistic expectations of the outcomes.

Surgical procedures for Vaginal Rejuvenation

Surgical procedures are primarily for cosmetic purposes, severe stress incontinence or severe loss of elasticity. Some women may not like the “look” of their vagina.

There are two types of surgeries: Labiaplasty is a procedure to change the size or shape of the lips around the vulva and Vaginoplasty is designed to tighten the vagina’s walls.

Non-surgical procedures for Vaginal Rejuvenation

There are different types of non-surgical procedures. Some devices use radiofrequency or laser energy to produce collagen tightening.

Radiofrequency for Vaginal Rejuvenation

Electromagnetic waves are used in radiofrequency devices and offer a boost of collagen. The energy is focused on heating the tissue. Radio frequency is a series of treatments and maintenance every 3 to 6 months.  Thermiva is an example of a radiofrequency device.

Pro’s of Radiofrequency for Vaginal Rejuvenation

  • Tightening: offers better results
  • No downtime
  • Non-invasive
  • No anesthesia required
  • Delivered at your comfort level

Con’s of Radiofrequency for Vaginal Rejuvenation

  • Longer treatment: over 30 minutes
  • Non-permanent: required 2 to 3 times per year
  • Not a true/permanent result
  • Treatment comfort: repetitive handpiece movement
  • Non-customizable: all patients are treated with the same heat settings

CO2 laser treatment for Vaginal Rejuvenation

CO2 Fractional Laser for vaginal rejuvenation is a type of laser applied to your vaginal tissues to stimulate the production of collagen. The procedure will help your body to produce healthy vaginal tissues. This procedure is made up of a series of 3 treatments, 3 to 10 minutes, every 4 to 6 weeks apart. It’s relatively painless, and no anesthetic or painkillers are required. Maintenance is needed 1 to 3 times per year or as soon as symptoms return.

Patients more often report quicker results with CO2 laser treatment and most report improvement in vaginal laxity and stress incontinence after the first treatment.

How does Core Intima work for Vaginal Rejuvenation?

The Core Intima is a fast, simple and safe laser treatment procedure that takes less than ten minutes. It delivers both immediate and lasting relief to the following conditions:

  • Stress incontinence: light to medium leakage
  • Vaginal dryness: painful intercourse
  • Vaginal atrophy: vaginal walls start thinning, drying and becoming inflamed
  • Vaginal tightness: loss of elasticity

Thickening of the vaginal tissues, better moisture and lubrication are some of the seen effects.

For most of our clients, especially after suffering from vaginal dryness caused by vaginal atrophy, lack of vaginal elasticity and stress incontinence feel that their lives have turned around.

Non-surgical procedures are becoming a more popular choice for women with life-altering results.

Fillers and Cosmetic Injections for Vaginal Rejuvenation

Fillers are also used to inject the clitoris, G-Spot or lips around the vulva. The effect of the filler is to volumize the labia majora, thereby concealing the labia minora to give a more proportioned appearance. The filler can also be injected into the internal wall of the vagina and injected closer to the clitoris. With vaginal dermal filler, the sensitivity in your vaginal area will improve.

O-shot for Vaginal Rejuvenation

The O-shot is a nonsurgical procedure for vaginal rejuvenation used that claims to treat sexual dysfunction and stimulate the vagina in a way that positively impacts orgasm. The procedure uses the patient’s drawn blood. A syringe is injected into an area near the clitoris and just inside the vagina, also known as the “O-Spot”.

Pro’s and Con’s of CO2 vs. Radiofrequency for Vaginal Rejuvenation

  • Thermiva results in bulk heating for collagen remodeling and tightening. CO2 results in cell rejuvenation, tissue regrowth, and coagulation, as well as vaginal tightening
  • Requires a manual, repetitive handpiece movement, this can be for patients, due to the in-and-out motion versus Core Intima (CO2 laser) has a stationary handpiece with a 360-degree laser, to cover all areas of the vaginal wall as it is withdrawn from the vagina
  • All patients are treated with the same Thermiva settings, CO2 has customizable settings and depths for specific concerns, such as stress incontinence, vaginal tightening for enhanced sexual experience or lubrication
