What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes very rapid healing. You can enjoy smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin, improved tone and texture and a reduction of unwanted hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, this treatment can help to improve the appearance of acne scars and surgical scars.

Before & After
PicoWay Resolve vs Co2re Laser
PicoWay Resolve laser treatment targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodelling of collagen. Since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes very rapid healing. Resolve Restore treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the production of new and healthy skin cells and collagen from the inside out. This process helps smooth the appearance of your skin, improve texture, reduce pigmentation, reduce pore size and reduce the appearance of scars or stretch marks.
TheCo2Re is a type of CO2 laser, which is a carbon dioxide laser used for skin resurfacing. Its results are similar to a chemical peel or dermabrasion, except that the laser removes skin layers by vaporization rather than with chemicals or a sanding device. The newest fractional CO2 laser to hit the market is the powerful yet versatile Co2Re from Syneron and Candela. The Co2Re features dual laser waves that can be adjusted to penetrate the skin at both superficial and deep levels simultaneously
The type of treatment needed depends greatly on your specific skin concern which is why a consultation is required before treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Laser Skin Resurfacing Q&A
Does Laser Skin Resurfacing work?
Laser Skin Resurfacing can decrease the appearance of fine lines on the face. It can also treat loss of skin tone and improve your complexion if you have scars or sun damage. This treatment, however, can’t eliminate excessive or sagging skin. Talk to your consultant for other options if that is your concern.
Is Laser Skin Resurfacing painful?
Treatment may hurt, or it may not, it depends greatly on the patient. Patients and doctors commonly compare the sensation felt during laser treatments to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. To minimize discomfort, topical anesthesia is applied before the Co2re Laser. No aesthetic is required before the PicoWay Resolve. However, what laser resurfacing feels like depends on the laser, the depth and area of treatment, and an individual’s tolerance for pain.
What is the downtime of Laser Skin Resurfacing?
After the treatment, most patients feel like they have a sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours. You may experience redness, flaking and/or minor swelling for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Laser skin resurfacing treatments are typically done in a series of 1 to 3 treatments depending on the skin concern for optimal results.
How often can you do laser skin resurfacing?
The most dramatic improvements will require the most treatments. It takes approximately 4 weeks for the skin to recover, so one visit per month is the most you can expect. Discuss with your consultant how many treatments would be ideal for your case, and what kind of schedule would be ideal for your treatment plan.
Are chemical peels better than Laser Skin Resurfacing?
While a chemical peel may lessen fine lines and rough skin, the treatment won’t do as much good with deep wrinkles or sagging skin. Lasers tackle skin conditions ranging from sun damage to brown spots or scarring. Depending on your primary concern, you consultant can help determine the best medical facial for you.
Can laser resurfacing remove wrinkles?
Facial laser resurfacing offers a safe and effective method to remove surface imperfections, shrink pores, lighten and diminish or remove pigment, and reduce lines and wrinkles; the result is a more youthful appearance of the skin.
