You just wake up, you go brush you teeth, and what’s the first thing you see? Yes, again! Mr Pimple just came for another visit! Sadly, acne is one of the biggest beauty downer.

According to the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, 54 percent of women older than age 25 have some facial acne.

Most acne treatments leaves your skin dry, red and sensible.

At Sparkle, we approach acne differently. We use ingredients that calm inflammation, rebuilt the epidermis and restore skin health instead of creating more inflammation.

Like all our services, we treat from the inside out.

What Cause Acne?

Hormonal Imbalance

Hormonal changes, whether they occur in adolescence or adulthood, are a breeding ground for the onset or aggravation of acne. An imbalance between estrogen and progesterone levels, among other things, accentuates the appearance of the sign of acne.

Skincare & Cosmetic Products

Some facial and hair products and makeup can promote acne, especially when they contain oily ingredients, such as silicon or are not suited to your skin type.

Nutrition & Lifestyle

When combined with other factors like food and stress, it may promote the appearance of the signs of acne.

Although heredity is not considered to be the only factor explaining the onset of acne, it plays an important role in it. Indeed, the risk of suffering from acne is five times higher when both parents have also been affected.

What we Offer

The first step in your fighting acne journey is to book a consultation with one of our consultation. They will first do a complete evaluation of the skincare and makeup you are using, your lifestyle, your skin type and all your previous experience trying to get rid of your acne. We will then come up with a plan to control and stop the acne from coming back then we can deal with the acne scarring.

The use of the wrong skincare of often one of the main cause of inflamed and break out prone skin.  We will take the time to go over all the ingredients you should stay away from, the one you should be using and how to use the right products for your skin type.

The first product is often an epidermal serum to repair your epidermis and calm the infllmation.

LASER Skin Resurfacing

Now that we have your skin under control, its time to look at how we can deal with hyperpigmentation, acne scars and any skin problem caused by previous acne. We will suggest the right medical facial and laser treatments if required.

In a lot of cases, we can treat hyperpigmentation with the right skincare.

When dealing with texture issues we will suggest our resurfacing lasers, PicoWay Resolve, Co2 Laser. or even microneedling .

When nothing else worked!
Last week, I posted one of our acne results and did a post on the difference between medical grade and over the counter skin care.

This amazing young lady reached out late Saturday and I decided to meet her during a break from my paperwork day last Sunday!

Her case is typical, she tried everything and nothing worked! She was sick of spending her hard earned money into products that were at most, not doing anything.. Some even made it worst!

I asked her to trust me on ONE thing… “Let’s calm the inflammation and you’ll see wonders!”. Wich she agreed on!

Today’s, she sent me those selfies! Yay!! 💪

Next steps! Let’s rebuilt this epiderm.

Most acne treatment involve drying your skin and over exfoliation. Please stop… Those products are adding even more inflammation! Your skin is telling you something!! Your skin is a protection organ!

Vulnerable post, hello 🙋🏻‍♀️

Never ever would I have thought i’d be posting a before and after of my skin. This is from the girl who would never walk out of the house without a bit of makeup on to cover up the acne and scarring.

This, my friends, is what a good skin care routine can do when you’re committed to it.

The before pictures are from June 2019, before I started working at Sparkle Lifestyle & MediSpa where the girls immediately recommended Osmosis, Vivier and Bend Skincare (here is where I tell you to absolutely check these brands for any kind of skin concerns !!!!!). One of the pictures was me on a bad day, and the other was when I felt my skin was “clear”, but was really full of post inflammation hyperpigmentation (scarring).

The bottom pictures are from yesterday morning, when I went to work with no makeup for the first time! I also received a microneedling treatment and holy moly did it ever help diminish my pore size.

So, do your research before starting a new skin care line. A lot of times what you think your skin needs is actually the complete opposite of what it really wants. And sometimes its as simple as drinking lots of water, cutting something out of your diet, changing your pillow case and washing your makeup brushes more frequently!

If you have any questions about skincare, feel free to message me and I can try to help or send you in the right direction 😉
