If you proceed, treatment follows the agreed plan. You leave with personalized aftercare, an explanation of swelling and bruising, and follow-up guidance.

Before you book
Is filler the right starting point?
Your consultation includes health screening and a discussion of realistic expectations. Active infection, certain health conditions or concerns better addressed with another approach may mean filler is not appropriate. Sparkle does not perform cosmetic injectable treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Filler does not replace surgery when surgery is needed.

Preparation & aftercare
Know what to do before—and after
Before your appointment
- Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours before treatment when possible.
- Tell us about supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, garlic, or turmeric. Do not stop prescribed medication or medically necessary supplements unless your prescribing provider advises you to.
- Tell us about dental work, vaccines, illness, cold sores, antibiotics, pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, and previous filler.
Day of treatment
- Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup around the treatment area.
- Eat beforehand and stay hydrated, especially if you tend to feel lightheaded with needles.
- Plan around swelling. Avoid booking filler right before photos, travel, weddings, or major events.
- Your injector will review consent, risks, anatomy, product choice, dose, and aftercare before treatment.
After your appointment
- Avoid touching, pressing, massaging, or sleeping directly on the treated area unless instructed.
- Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, saunas, steam, hot yoga, and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
- Use a clean cold compress if recommended. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
- Wait until injection points are closed and calm before applying makeup or active skincare.
Swelling may shift or look uneven over days 2–7 and does not always reflect the final result. By weeks 2–4, most swelling has improved and the result is easier to assess. Follow-up timing depends on the area and treatment plan.

Risks & side effects
Medical treatment deserves an informed choice
Filler carries risks. Your injector reviews them with you before treatment; assessment and careful planning do not eliminate every risk.
Common temporary effects
Redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, pressure, firmness, temporary unevenness, and mild asymmetry may occur while filler settles.
Less common risks
Lumps, nodules, prolonged swelling, product migration, infection, scarring, or delayed inflammatory responses may occur.
Rare serious risks
Vascular occlusion, skin injury, tissue damage, or vision-related emergencies are rare but require immediate assessment.
When to contact Sparkle immediately
Contact us immediately or seek urgent medical assessment if you notice severe or worsening pain, skin blanching, grey or dusky colour changes, mottling, unusual coldness, worsening swelling, signs of infection, or any vision changes after filler treatment.

Most hyaluronic acid fillers last approximately 6 to 18 months, depending on product type, treatment area, metabolism, movement, lifestyle, and the amount used. Some areas may need maintenance sooner than others.
Are dermal fillers painful?
Most clients tolerate filler treatments well. Comfort depends on the area, technique, product, and individual sensitivity. Numbing, slow technique, and comfort measures may be used when appropriate.
Is there downtime after dermal fillers?
There is usually some temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising. Many clients return to normal routines shortly after, but you should follow aftercare instructions and allow time for swelling to settle before events.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Many hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate. Dissolving decisions require assessment because not all concerns are caused by filler and not every product behaves the same way.
