How to prepare for Belkyra — and what the swelling actually means.
Belkyra is different from filler or neuromodulator injections. Because the goal is to create a controlled inflammatory response that helps the body process treated fat cells, swelling is not only common — it is expected. The right timing, aftercare, and expectations make the experience much easier.
Before Belkyra
- Tell your provider about medications, supplements, bleeding risk, allergies, swallowing issues, thyroid/neck history, previous chin or neck treatments, and medical conditions.
- Avoid alcohol, anti-inflammatory medication, and supplements that may increase bruising only if it is medically appropriate and your provider confirms it is safe for you.
- Plan the appointment away from major events, photos, travel, or important meetings because under-chin swelling can be noticeable.
- Arrive with clean skin and expect photos, marking, mapping, consent, and a treatment plan based on anatomy.
During treatment
