Neurotoxins, such as Botox or Dysport, can be used to address platysmal bands or to achieve the Nefertiti lift. Here’s how neurotoxins can be used for these purposes:

  1. Platysmal Bands: The platysma muscle is located in the neck and can cause horizontal bands or vertical cords to become more visible as we age. Neurotoxins can be injected into specific points along the platysma muscle to weaken its contraction. By relaxing the muscle, the appearance of platysmal bands can be reduced, resulting in a smoother and more youthful neck.
  2. Nefertiti Lift: The Nefertiti lift is a non-surgical technique used to redefine the jawline and improve the appearance of the neck. By strategically injecting neurotoxins along the lower jawline and into the platysma muscle, the downward pull of the platysma muscle is weakened or inhibited. This creates an upward lifting effect, tightening the jawline and improving the overall contour of the neck. The Nefertiti lift can provide a more sculpted and youthful appearance without the need for surgery.
Platysma Band

Technique 1

Depth: Intramuscular In the first technique, you inject 2 units following the illustrated pictures.

Technique: Grab the muscle and instruct the patient to make the “E” sound. Inject the muscle intramuscularly with 1 cc of reconstituted solution, spacing the injections 2 cm apart intramuscularly.

Recommended Dosage: Use 10 to 15 units per side, resulting in a total of 20 to 30 units.

Technique 2

Depth: Subdermal

Technique: For the second technique, reconstitute 4 cc of solution (similar to hyperhidrosis treatment). Inject subdermally in a zigzag pattern, spacing the injections 1 cm apart. Use 2.5 units per injection point, following the same technique as for hyperhidrosis treatment.

Recommended Dosage: Use 10 to 15 units per side, resulting in a total of 20 to 30 units.

Combining Neurotoxins with Dermal Fillers

After undergoing a platysmal band treatment, the use of skinboosters, dermal fillers, and Sculptra can further enhance the improvement of neck lines and overall skin texture.

Skinboosters: Skinboosters are a type of dermal filler specifically designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and texture. They typically contain hyaluronic acid, which helps attract and retain moisture in the skin. By injecting skinboosters into the neck area, the skin is revitalized, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance. The increased hydration also helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dermal Fillers: Dermal fillers can be used strategically to address specific concerns related to neck lines. For example, if there are deeper wrinkles or creases in the neck area, dermal fillers can be injected to add volume and plump up the skin, reducing the depth of the lines. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are commonly used for this purpose, as they provide immediate results and can last for several months.

Sculptra: Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating filler that works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. When injected into the neck area, Sculptra helps to gradually restore lost volume and improve skin laxity. It promotes the formation of new collagen fibers, leading to a firmer and tighter appearance over time. Multiple sessions of Sculptra injections may be required to achieve optimal results, as the effects are gradual and long-lasting.

Combining these treatments with a platysmal band treatment can provide comprehensive rejuvenation for the neck area. The platysmal band treatment addresses the underlying muscle bands responsible for the appearance of vertical neck lines, while skinboosters, dermal fillers, and Sculptra further enhance the texture, hydration, and volume of the skin. It is important to consult with a skilled and experienced aesthetic practitioner to determine the most suitable treatment plan based on individual needs and goals.
