What Are Botox & Dysport?
Botox® and Dysport® are Health Canada–approved neuromodulator treatments that work by temporarily relaxing the specific muscles responsible for expression lines. A precise, small amount of the product is injected directly into the target muscle, softening existing lines and preventing new ones from forming with repeated expression.
Both products contain botulinum toxin type A — the difference lies in their formulation and diffusion profile:
- Botox® (Allergan): The clinical gold standard. Precise, well-studied, predictable. Preferred for targeted areas where accuracy is critical, such as brow lifts and lip flips.
- Dysport® (Galderma): A slightly different formulation that diffuses more broadly, making it well-suited for larger muscle groups such as the forehead. Many clients find Dysport kicks in slightly faster (3–5 days vs. 5–7).
During your consultation, we help you choose between the two based on your anatomy, goals, and treatment area.
Why Choose Sparkle for Botox & Dysport?
- Physician-overseen care. Every treatment at Sparkle is performed under the direct medical oversight of Dr. Carole Williams, MD OBGYN, Medical Director. This is not a spa. Your results are backed by a clinical standard of safety.
- Named injectors with specialized training. Our injectable team — Yannick Noel Mallet RN, Taryn McLaughlin RN, Brady Gaillard RN, Katie Sturgeon RN — specializes in advanced injection techniques including facial harmonization, masseter reduction, and preventative Botox protocols.
- Both Botox® and Dysport® available. Most clinics carry one. We carry both — so your treatment is matched to your anatomy and goals, not to what’s in stock.
- A consultation-first approach. We do not inject without a plan. Every new client receives a facial analysis mapping before any product is placed.
- Serving Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview since 2012. Over a decade of results a

Botox & Dysport Treatments Areas
Who Is This For?
The Preventative Client (20s & 30s) You want to stop lines before they set. Smaller “baby Botox” doses placed early can prevent dynamic wrinkles from becoming permanent static lines — one of the most cost-effective aesthetic investments available.
The Rejuvenation Client (40s & Beyond) You want to soften deep lines, lift a heavy brow, and look less tired without surgery. Our advanced techniques can take years off your appearance with precision and subtlety.
Men’s Botox (“Brotox”) We specialize in masculine injection patterns — preserving a strong brow shape and natural expression while softening harsh furrow lines and creating a more energized, approachable appearance.
Maintenance Clients You already love your results and just want to stay consistent. We make that easy with flexible scheduling and package pricing.
Results Timeline
Days 1–3: Minimal visible change. The product is settling into the muscle.
Days 3–7 (Dysport) / Days 5–10 (Botox): Movement begins to soften. Lines start to relax.
Months 3–4: Gradual return of muscle movement. Time to book your next treatment.
With consistent maintenance: Results often last longer as muscles become conditioned to relax. Many clients extend to every 4–6 months over time.
The Sparkle Process
01 : The Consultation: We assess your facial anatomy, review your goals, and build your treatment map. We discuss whether Botox® or Dysport® is the better fit for your specific areas.
02 : The Treatment: In 15–20 minutes, our injector places precise, fine-gauge injections into each target muscle. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick pinch. Numbing cream is available if desired.
03 : Immediate Aftercare Mild redness and tiny “mosquito bite” marks at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within 15–30 minutes. You can return to work immediately.
04 : Day 14 Check-In We offer a complimentary follow-up at the two-week mark to assess results and make any small adjustments.
Pre & Post-Care Guide
7 Days Before Your Appointment
- Avoid blood thinners: If medically cleared by your doctor, pause Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), and high-dose Vitamin E or Fish Oil. These significantly increase bruising risk.
- Pause herbal supplements: Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic, and Ginseng also affect clotting — pause for 5–7 days prior.
- Minimize alcohol: Alcohol thins the blood and increases bruising. Avoid for 48 hours before treatment.
- No new skincare actives: Hold off on starting any new retinols, AHAs, or exfoliants in the treatment area.
24 Hours Before
- Eat a full meal before arriving to prevent lightheadedness.
- Come with a clean face — no heavy makeup or creams on the treatment area.
- Disclose everything: Let your Sparkle provider know about any new medications, supplements, recent illness, or changes to your health history.
Immediately After Treatment
- Do not rub or massage the treated area for at least 6 hours.
- Stay upright for 4 hours after treatment — avoid lying face-down.
- Avoid heat for 24 hours: no saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or hot yoga.
- No intense exercise for 24 hours — elevated heart rate can increase bruising and product migration risk.
- No alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment.
- No facials, peels, or other facial treatments for 2 weeks.
What Is Normal?
- Tiny “mosquito bite” marks at injection sites resolving within 30 minutes
- Mild redness or pinkness for 1–4 hours
- Occasional small bruise (especially near the eyes or lips) lasting 3–5 days
- A slight feeling of tightness or heaviness as the product settles — this resolves as the muscle relaxes
- No visible results for the first 3–7 days — this is completely normal
