The Botox Experience

Botox Secrets That You Should Know & Avoid

What To Expect From Your Botox Treatment

We all want to age as gracefully as possible. The aging process is a fact of life. We all get older but who wants to look tired or angry all the time through the process? Fine lines and wrinkles start popping up on the face and suddenly, we appear constantly frustrated and irritated due to these changes.

The reality is that late nights, binge drinking and falling asleep with makeup on can start to show their effects as early as your mid-to-late 20s. Holiday sunburns and speaking with expressive eyebrows can also intensify fine lines. When the muscles contract we begin to see the development of such little lines.

Or maybe you are curious about Botox because you have heard that it is preventative! Thinking in the long term – how will this help in five to 10 years?

Botox is a drug, known as bacterium clostridium botulinum, and is not just for cosmetic purposes. It can also be used to treat several medical concerns such as eyelid and neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), as well as migraine headaches.

There is only so much that makeup has to offer when it comes to fine lines and wrinkles. We know that the more makeup you put on, the more it collects and creases. Botox is the best option for that “I work up like this” look.

The same can be said for skin care. We at Sparkle will be the first to tell you that you need to have a good skin care regimen however you can think of Botox like peanut butter and great skin care like jelly. Together they complement each other to make a great sandwich!

Botox is the best solution for tackling the signs of aging.

From the injection site, Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the facial muscles. The injected muscle cannot contract. That makes wrinkles relax and soften. Botox is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines.

It is important to read all of our FAQs on our Botox page to make sure you are prepared for your treatment (our medical aestheticians will also go over this with you during your consult). For example:

  • No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid getting hot 48 hours after treatment (including drinking alcohol, sun exposure, hot showers).
  • No rubbing or massaging the injected area 4 hours after treatment, including facials and makeup application.

At Sparkle we approach cosmetic injections differently. There are a lot of conditions that can be helped with proper skincare. We always start with the consultation to make sure you are doing everything you can to protect your investment, including your cosmetic injections.

Botox might be a one-time thing that can help you look good for an event or used as a preventative treatment for future fine lines and wrinkles. We help you nail down your top priorities and treatment goals. We then provide you with guidance on what exactly you need to do at home to make sure your Botox lasts.

We also do our best to focus on a more natural look. Every person already naturally beautiful in their own unique way! We want to enhance your natural beauty while helping you with those little annoyances in your appearance that hold you back from being your most confident self.
