Immediately After Your Treatment
- Slight Swelling or Redness: You may notice temporary swelling or redness at the injection site. This is normal and should subside within a few hours.
- Head Position: For the next 4 hours, keep your head upright. Avoid bending over, lying down, or applying pressure to the treated areas.
Promoting Optimal Results
- Muscle Activation: For 1 hour after your treatment, exaggerate natural facial expressions to activate the injected muscles. This can help Botox or Dysport bind effectively.
- Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or pressing on the treated areas for 48 hours to prevent the product from spreading to unintended areas.
Common Side Effects and How to Manage Them
- Bruising: Some bruising may occur and typically resolves within a few days. To minimize bruising:
- Apply ice to the area as needed.
- Use makeup to cover any discoloration once pinpoint bleeding has resolved.
- Headaches or Discomfort: Mild discomfort is normal. Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen as they can increase bruising. Opt for acetaminophen if pain relief is needed.
Activities to Avoid
- Exercise: Avoid strenuous physical activity, including heavy exercise, for 24 hours post-treatment to prevent Botox or Dysport from migrating.
- Facial Treatments: Refrain from chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or facials for at least 24 hours.
- Alcohol: Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours as it may slow healing and increase bruising.
- Lying Down: Do not lie flat or bend over for at least 4 hours after your treatment.
Makeup and Skincare
- Makeup: Makeup can be applied once any pinpoint bleeding has stopped, but be gentle to avoid disturbing the treated areas.
- Skin Irritants: Avoid harsh skincare products or exfoliants for 24 hours.
What to Expect Post-Treatment
- Results Timeline: Botox or Dysport effects are not immediate.
- You may start noticing changes within 3–5 days.
- Full results can take up to 2 weeks to appear.
- Follow-Up Appointment: We recommend a follow-up visit 2 weeks post-treatment to evaluate your results. Adjustments may be made to ensure the best outcome, particularly for first-time clients.
Key Reminders
Stay Upright: Keeping your head elevated helps prevent the product from moving to unwanted areas.
Avoid Massaging the Area: This could cause the product to spread and potentially affect unintended areas.
Avoid Physical Activity: This includes any strenuous exercises or heavy lifting for the first 24 hours.
