What is PRP Treatment?

PPRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a regenerative treatment made entirely from your own blood. We draw a small sample, spin it in a medical-grade centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and deliver those growth factors precisely where your body needs them — into the scalp, skin, or under-eye area. Platelets act as biological messengers, triggering your body’s natural repair process to build new collagen, stimulate follicle activity, and restore tissue quality.

Why PRP works:

  • 100% natural. Uses your own cells — no synthetic ingredients, no risk of allergic reaction.
  • Hair restoration. Activates dormant follicles to increase density and slow thinning.
  • Under-eye renewal. Thickens delicate skin to reduce hollowness and dark circles naturally.
  • Scar and texture repair. Flattens acne scars and tightens pores, especially when paired with microneedling.
  • Long-term remodelling. PRP rebuilds tissue from within — results develop and deepen over time.

Vampire Facial Treatment Moncton NB (2)

The “Vampire Facial” (PRP + Microneedling)

Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin; PRP is then applied and stamped in. The combination amplifies collagen induction, reduces acne scars, softens fine lines, and minimizes pores — with less downtime than either treatment performed alone.

Who is this for

PRP is well-suited for clients who want to:

  • Slow hair thinning and reactivate follicle activity without surgery or medication
  • Improve skin texture, tone, and crepiness without synthetic fillers
  • Reduce acne scarring or surgical scars naturally
  • Brighten the under-eye area using their own healing factors
  • Complement and extend the results of other treatments such as microneedling, CO2RE resurfacing, or Sculptra

How It Works

The Sparkle Experience

01

Consultation

We assess your hair density or skin concern to confirm you are a strong candidate for PRP and determine the right protocol for your goals.

02

The Draw

A small blood sample is taken — the sensation is the same as a routine lab test.

03

The Spin

Your blood is processed in our medical-grade centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. This typically takes 10–15 minutes while you relax.

04

The Treatment

A topical numbing cream is applied first. PRP is then delivered via fine injections or a microneedling device, depending on your personalized treatment plan.

05

The Recovery

Expect 24–48 hours of mild redness or tightness. Scalp treatments have virtually no visible downtime.

PRP Treatment: Your Pre & Post-Care Guide

To ensure the highest concentration of “Liquid Gold” and the smoothest recovery, please follow these clinical guidelines.

7 Days Before Your Appointment

  • Blood thinners: If medically cleared by your doctor, avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), and high doses of Vitamin E or Fish Oil. These increase bruising risk and reduce platelet function.
  • Supplements: Pause herbal supplements such as Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic, and Ginseng.
  • Lifestyle: Minimize alcohol and avoid smoking in the days before your appointment — both reduce growth factor concentration in your plasma.

24 Hours Before Your Appointment

  • Hydrate. Drink at least 2 litres of water. Well-hydrated clients have easier blood draws and higher-quality plasma.
  • Eat a full meal before arriving to prevent lightheadedness during the blood draw.
  • For scalp PRP: Wash your hair the morning of your treatment. Avoid heavy gels, sprays, or fibres on the day of your appointment.

Immediately After Your Treatment

  • Hands off. Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for at least 6 hours.
  • Avoid heat. No saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, or intense exercise for 24 hours.
  • Sun protection. After a Vampire Facial, avoid direct sun exposure for 72 hours. Use a clean hat for scalp treatments.
  • Product hiatus. No makeup or active skincare (Retinol, Vitamin C, AHAs) for 24–48 hours. Use only the gentle cleanser and recovery products recommended by your Sparkle provider.

What is Normal?

  • Mild redness or a “sunburnt” look for 1–2 days
  • Slight flakiness on days 3–5 after a Vampire Facial — this is the renewal process, not irritation. Do not pick.
  • Scalp tenderness for 1–3 days — Tylenol is safe if needed Hair regrowth results develop gradually and become visible at 3–6 months

PRP Treatments Frequently Asked Questions

For hair, we typically recommend 3–6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. For skin rejuvenation, 3 sessions are the standard “loading phase.”

PRP rebuilds tissue gradually. Most clients notice improved skin glow and texture within 2–4 weeks. Hair regrowth takes longer — significant density improvement is typically visible at 3–6 months. Under-eye results develop progressively over 6–8 weeks.

We apply high-potency topical numbing cream before every treatment and use fine-gauge injection techniques throughout. Most clients find it considerably more comfortable than they expected. The blood draw feels the same as a routine lab test.

A Vampire Facial combines microneedling with PRP. Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, and PRP is applied and stamped into those channels — dramatically amplifying collagen stimulation and accelerating repair. It is one of the most effective treatments available for acne scarring, fine lines, and skin texture without significant downtime.

Tear trough filler adds synthetic volume immediately, but carries a risk of puffiness or migration over time. PRP works differently — it gradually thickens the skin under the eyes and improves circulation, creating a natural result that develops over weeks. It is particularly well-suited to clients with thin or crepey under-eye skin rather than significant hollow volume loss.

Yes. Because PRP is derived entirely from your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. It is one of the most biologically compatible treatments available. All PRP treatments at Sparkle are performed by our registered clinical team under the physician oversight of Dr. Carole Williams, MD OBGYN.

Frequently. Common combinations include PRP with microneedling (the Vampire Facial), PRP applied post-CO2RE resurfacing to accelerate healing, PRP with Sculptra for comprehensive collagen stimulation, and PRP with medical-grade supplements like Nutrafol for hair restoration. We build your treatment stack during your consultation.

NaturaGel is a specific PRP protocol by Cellenis designed for the under-eye and delicate facial areas. It produces a more gel-like consistency than standard PRP, which keeps it precisely placed at the injection site — making it particularly well-suited to the periorbital area where standard PRP can disperse. PRP may not be suitable if you have certain blood disorders affecting platelet function, active infections in the treatment area, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are undergoing active cancer treatment, or are a heavy smoker. A comprehensive health intake is completed at every initial consultation to confirm your candidacy before any treatment is performed.

PRP Safety, Contraindications & Risks

Common Temporary Side Effects

PRP activates your body’s natural healing response — some temporary reaction is expected and normal:

  • Redness and swelling at the injection site, typically resolving within 24–48 hours
  • Bruising may occur, particularly in delicate areas such as the under-eye
  • Scalp tenderness for 1–3 days following hair restoration treatment
  • Skin flakiness on days 3–5 after a Vampire Facial — this reflects the renewal process, not an adverse reaction

Contraindications

PRP is not appropriate for everyone. Treatment may not be recommended if you have:

  • Active blood disorders affecting platelet function or clotting
  • Active infection in or near the treatment area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active cancer or ongoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment
  • Severe anemia or clinically low platelet count
  • Immunosuppressive therapy

A comprehensive health intake is completed at every initial consultation to confirm your candidacy before any treatment begins.
