In short: Vascular Lesions Removal uses targeted laser energy to heat blood within a visible vessel or red vascular spot. The treated vessel closes and is gradually cleared by the body. At Sparkle in Moncton, the GentleMax Pro® may be used for facial veins, broken capillaries, cherry angiomas, redness associated with visible vessels, and selected small superficial vessels. More than one session may be needed. Bulging, painful, warm, swollen, bleeding, ulcerated, or rapidly changing veins or lesions require medical assessment before cosmetic treatment.
How It Works
Laser energy targets blood within the vessel.
The GentleMax Pro delivers controlled laser energy to a visible vascular target. Hemoglobin absorbs the energy, heat develops inside the vessel, and the treated vessel coagulates and closes. Your body then gradually clears the treated vessel over the following weeks.
Lesion-specific settings
Settings are chosen according to the lesion colour, size, depth, location, surrounding skin, and your skin tone.
Gradual clearing
A vessel may blanch, darken, or look temporarily more noticeable before it fades.
Personalized assessment
Not every red spot or visible vessel is the same. Your consultation helps determine whether laser treatment is appropriate or whether medical assessment is needed first.
Treatment Areas
Vascular concerns we may be able to treat.
Facial Veins
Broken capillaries and visible red or purple vessels around the nose, cheeks, chin, and other suitable facial areas.
Cherry Angiomas
Selected small, bright-red vascular spots may be suitable for laser treatment after the area has been assessed.
Redness & Rosacea
Visible facial vessels and persistent redness associated with rosacea may improve as part of a broader treatment plan.
Selected Body & Leg Vessels
Selected small superficial vessels on the body or legs may be suitable after assessment. Laser is not the best option for every leg vein.
Please seek medical assessment first for veins or lesions that are bulging, painful, tender, warm, bleeding, ulcerated, rapidly changing, associated with swelling, or causing one-sided leg symptoms. Cosmetic laser treatment does not diagnose skin cancer or treat underlying venous disease.
The Technology
Two wavelengths. One personalized treatment plan.
The GentleMax Pro combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG laser wavelengths. Your provider selects the wavelength, spot size, pulse duration, energy, and cooling settings that best match the vascular target and your skin tone.
755 nm Alexandrite
The Alexandrite wavelength may be selected for certain superficial vascular concerns in appropriate skin tones. Your provider determines whether it is suitable for the lesion and surrounding skin.
1064 nm Nd:YAG
The Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and may be selected for certain vascular targets and a wider range of skin tones. Treatment settings are individualized after assessment.
Why It Matters
The correct settings matter.
- Small isolated vessels and red vascular spots may need precise spot treatment.
- Persistent diffuse redness may need a broader skin and rosacea treatment plan.
- Skin tone, recent sun exposure, medications, and lesion depth affect the treatment plan.
- Leg veins may require sclerotherapy, ultrasound assessment, or referral instead of cosmetic laser.
The Sparkle Process
What to expect, start to finish.
01
Consultation
We review the concern, location, vessel pattern, skin tone, medications, medical history, sun exposure, and whether the area is safe and appropriate to treat.
02
Treatment Plan
We select the appropriate GentleMax Pro wavelength and settings, delay treatment when needed, or recommend medical assessment when cosmetic laser is not the right option.
03
Treatment
Protective eyewear is used and controlled pulses are delivered to the vessel. Most clients describe warmth, a quick snap, or brief stinging.
04
Review & Maintenance
We assess the response after the skin has settled. Additional sessions or future maintenance may be recommended because new vessels can develop.
Candidacy & Safety
Who is a good candidate?
Often suitable
Adults with stable cosmetic facial vessels, cherry angiomas, redness related to visible vessels, or selected small superficial vessels who can avoid tanning and follow aftercare.
May need to wait
Treatment may be delayed for recent sun exposure, active irritation or infection, certain medications, pregnancy, an uncertain diagnosis, or other temporary contraindications.
Needs medical review
Painful or bulging veins, swelling, warmth, ulcers, bleeding, rapid changes, an uncertain skin lesion, or suspected circulation problems should be medically assessed.
Preparation · Recovery · Results
How to prepare and what happens after.
Before treatment
- Avoid tanning, tanning beds, and self-tanner before your appointment.
- Tell us about prescriptions, supplements, blood thinners, photosensitizing medications, and recent procedures.
- Pause irritating active skincare on the area when directed.
- Arrive with clean skin and no makeup, lotion, perfume, or self-tanner on the area.
After treatment
- Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, or mild stinging can occur.
- Use cool compresses and gentle products as directed.
- Avoid heat, intense exercise, hot tubs, saunas, and harsh skincare for the period recommended by your provider.
- Protect the area from sun and apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
Results timeline
- Some small vessels may change immediately; others fade gradually over several weeks.
- Treated vessels may temporarily look darker or more noticeable.
- Several sessions may be needed for fuller clearing.
- Treated vessels can clear, but new vessels may form over time.
Consultation & Pricing
Your quote depends on the treatment area and vascular concern.
Because one small cherry angioma is very different from a network of facial capillaries or a larger vascular treatment area, pricing is confirmed after assessment. Your consultation will clarify whether GentleMax Pro treatment is appropriate, the estimated number of sessions, and the treatment price before you commit.
Receive a clear treatment quote before you proceed
Your provider will assess the number, size, location, depth, and type of vascular concerns, explain whether GentleMax Pro treatment is appropriate, and provide transparent pricing before you decide whether to proceed.
